I made a cake the other week and used a recipe for the frosting that was pudding and cool whip mixed together. I used raw milk. When we went to eat it, it was awful! It tasted rancid and I was so bummed. Tonight I made a graham cracker eclair dessert, which was pudding again with raw milk and cool whip mixed in. So excited to serve this, and again, awful! Rancid! I wanted to cry as I dumped it all out. So now I investigate online to see if anyone else has had this problem. I read another blog too that discovered you can’t mix raw milk and cool whip. Cool whip is an oil base and it messes with the raw milk. Thank you for your help!

So glad to find this post. I made a clear pie using raw milk and Cool whip and it was fine the first day and absolutely disgusting this morning. Thought my fridge was failing. Glad to know I can just scald the milk or skip the Cool whip. Thanks for the info!

We butcher our own. I hate it but am too cheap to pay someone else. Besides, then you know that you have your own meat and all the yucky stuff is out of it. I also will can some too. we do hamburger, roasts, tenderloin, and then can the rest.

I will have to try that recipe. We like lemon bars here too. and yup! The middle is always better. i could never figure out why someone would buy those brownie pans with all of those edges so that everyone could get the outside.

I will be getting Red Havens from the local farm stand tomorrow to try making peach jam for the first time. I wouldn't use just canned peaches. I used Red Havens recently for my grandma's peach kuchen recipe and they were perfect!

I discovered it matters what kind of or how strong the onion is. I was told to not cut the roots off the onion until the last thing. There is some for glans in there that send off the strongest smell.. Also, put it in fridge a bit before chopping or slicing.
One way to get onion off your hands is to rub them over metal while in water. I rub them on the faucet after putting them under faucet with water on.
