Strawberry Danish to Freeze

By now, you probably know that I like to freezer anything freezable!  Well, here is another idea for a quick dessert.

The first recipe came from my cousin.  It is a thick Danish and is good for on top of cakes and in other desserts.  I also am experimenting with this one and the freezer.  It is really thick and I am thinking it probably will get a little thinner from freezing but still be good for adding Cool Whip or on top of desserts.

The second recipe comes from my aunt.  It is more like a topping for on ice cream.  It is thin, but very good also.  It is made for the freezer.

Strawberry Danish I
Mix together-
1 cup Therm-Flo (use this when freezing it.  You can find it at the bulk food store.Other wise, you can use clear jell or cornstarch)
2 cups sugar
2 packages Strawberry Kool-Aid

To make Danish-
3/4 cup from above mix
2 cups water
Bring water to boil.  Add mix and cook until thick.  Cool  a little, not cold.  Add 2 cups strawberries.

Dessert Idea-
Bake an angel food cake or yellow cake in cookie sheet.  Mix together 1 pack cream cheese, 1 cup 10x sugar, and 4 oz Cool Whip.  Put on top of cake.  Spread Danish over cream cheese layer.  Chill.  Very good!

Strawberry Danish II
2 1/2 cups sugar
1/2 cup Therm-Flo
4 cups water
1 package Strawberry Kool-Aid
2 quarts Strawberries
Mix sugar and Therm-Flo and add to boiling water.  Cook til thick and clear.
Freeze in containers.

I canned my Strawberry Danish--
3 qts crushed sberries
3 cups sugar
1 qt. water
1 pkg Danish Dessert
4TBSP cooking clear jell (heaping)
1 pkg of Sberry jello

Mix sberries, sugar and water in big kettle. Bring to a boil. Mix 1 cup water with Danish Dessert and clear jell. Add Jello for added thickness and flavor. Add to berry mixture and bring to a boil again. Put in cold quart jars. Cold pack for 10 minutes. Yield for 4 to 5 qts. (delicious as is or on top of ice cream--my hubby uses it on top of his morning cereal)

Next year, I made over 50 qts & it was all months ago.. So this year I am hoping to canned at least 60... hoping my sberries last that long!!
